I love the small stone phaser. The late 70's one with red and black logo's. One knob - and ON/OFF - how phasey do you want it? Some phase - Just enough phase? Lots of phase - or toooo much phase? Pretty sure the smashing pumpkins used this pedal massively. Some of the EHX pedals/boxes from this period are a little weird like the Electronic Metronome and the Bass Balls. Go dig deep with Electro-Harmonix ... there are some beautiful pedals to find out there. The Poly Flange/Chorus are kinda the same but different - Kurt used one of them - the other is still great too. If you see one in a pawn/cash converters - just buy it!!
